Shrimpfishing By Horse
A type of shrimp fishing, which is unique in Europe, is practiced in Oostduinkerke.
At the ebb tide the fishermen ride through the shallow water on sturdy cart-horses.
The animals trail large nets behind them at a leisurely pace and from time to time the rider empties the catch into the baskets on the horse's back.
