Hypocrisy in the UK

  • The Smoking Ban in train stations served by diesel trains

Take London Paddington... A fine example of a great building. Throughout the building (which is open from both sides) smoking is now forbidden...

However, every so many minutes a huge Great Western DIESEL ENGINE rolls into the station, bellowing huge amounts of thick black smoke...

10 years ago, (other) EU Countries have decided, regulated, and implemented, the ban on using diesel trains. All passenger traffic has to be done using electric trains.

IF this were the case in the UK too, then I would not have a problem at all with the smoking ban in London Paddington.

But, as it stands today, it's just ridiculous...

  • The Smoking Ban on open air train platforms

On open-air train platforms, it is now also forbidden to smoke.
Why?
Big Bro caring for my health?
Oh come on, leave it...

GWR kindly informed me I'm liable to a £30 fine... Nice one.
